Leslie Parrish on her TOS experience

That bridge set was pretty awesome. I loved the computers. We didn’t have them then for personal use. But when they came out, I was one of the first to get one. The future has always been much more real to me than the present. So when I walked into Star Trek, I felt I was at home. I thought, this is the way it ought to be. Not just with the computers, but with the people – the way they were portrayed, in a time when it didn’t matter what race you were or where you were from. The ideals and values were marvelous. It had Gene [Roddenberry] all over it – his values. I just loved him. I felt a kindred soul with him.
